MBA (Food Technology and Food Enterprise Management)
Orientation And Pedagogy
A wide range of learning environments are available to students, including lectures, tutorials, laboratory and pilot plant practicals, shop floor learning during factory visits, online delivery and individual and/or group presentations.
Importantly, a high proportion of time is spent in industry-standard facilities, such as the Culinary Innovation Centre and Business Incubation Centre. This experience provides a practical element to students’ learning, encouraging them to develop business management skills.
Foundation knowledge in entrepreneurial management and regulations are part of the curriculum to ensure students are exposed to take up entrepreneurial ventures in food tech business. Strong industry links are demonstrated through two Industry Integrated Internships (ICube) experiences. With input from industry partners, a student will also be able to create new products, develop manufacturing processes, or design a food quality assurance plan.
During the final semester the students will apply skills and advanced knowledge to an industry-focused research project. Students are encouraged to complete the research project in industry, when possible. The program is highly interactive and practical oriented.
