Introduction: In today’s world of technology and artificial intelligence, spiritualism and peace are something that is of utmost importance in a human's life. Spirituality, culinary and peace bring together exquisite food and combine itself with pleasure and tranquility. Exploring new sacred places, practicing mindfulness and enjoying locally produced fresh cuisine, tourists can begin a transitional journey that enhances the body as well as the soul.
How food affects spiritual tourism? It is seen that food has always been an integral part of any travel. And when it comes to spiritual tourism, people love to indulge in local and fresh food. Often people tend to eat satvik or sacred food; also known as “Naivedya” – an offering to god. People tend to travel to spiritual places to forget all anxiety and concentrate on the power that rules the world. In this process, food plays a major role. The diet is as normal as possible. Travelers can actually deepen their understanding of different cultures, traditions, while getting influenced by the experience of food.
Peace Tourism: A pathway to eternal purity. As we see the growing trend of peace tourism, which mostly focuses on visiting sites that promote peace, harmony and understanding and getting acquainted with the knowledge of power. They mainly focus on the following parameters:
1. Participation in meditation retreat: They have created stone seats in the ashram where you can sit, feel the breeze, listen to a nice meditation music and concentrate on your breathing. This makes a person learn mindfulness and cultivates inner peace.
2. Indulging in local food: As the ashram is based on the outskirts of Pune city, they mostly serve vegetables, fruits and other dishes that are cultivated within the ashram itself. And if some ingredient is not available they source it from the nearby village. This supports local farmers and we can also taste the flavors of the region.
3. Engage in community service: They conduct various workshops for different age groups. During this time, the members of the organization are assigned duties to make food, take registrations, be a part of the management committee, etc. They also visit the nearby villages and try and promote peace. This is what means giving back to the community to promote peace and harmony.
4. Connect with nature: This is the most important part of peace and spiritual tourism. As it is located out of the Pune city, they are lush green and they give you a chance to connect with nature. You can actually see the Sunrise at 5:30 am, and feel the rays entering your body and mind thereby enhancing peace. By enjoying the beauty of the surroundings, we actually can interact with nature in a positive manner.
